Sonam Kapoor was born on the 9th of June, 1985. she is the daughter of actor, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor. Her uncles are producer Boney Kapoor and actor Sanjay Kapoor.
Sonam Kapoor made her debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya opposite Rishi Kapoor’s son, Ranbir. The film released in November 2007 and was a dud at the box-office. She has also assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the making of Black.
Apparently, when she was chosen as the lead heroine of Saawariya, Sonam weighed around 85 KGs and was quite taken aback at Sanjay’s decision. However, eventually she decided to shed all those extra pounds. ]
Currently she is working in Rakesyh Om Prakash Mehra's Dilli 6 opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
